The Village Inn has a history rich in community. As Newport Beach's premier dining and entertainment establishment the VI has touched generations of locals and tourists alike and commits to maintaining a feeling of comfort and approachability reminiscent of its small town affiliation.
OUR EXECUTIVE CHEF
Victor Sandoval joins the Village Inn with a lifetime of passion and exploration into the culinary arts. By the age of 21 Victor had already incorporated his family’s niche in fine produce and generational cooking techniques into a Sous Chef position under French Chef Alain Vardon followed by training and a Sous Chef position under Italian Chef Antonino Di La Rosa. After mastering French and Italian cuisine, Victor embarked on ownership in 1999 opening The Brick, bar and grill, and 2nd Street Bistro, both located in Southern California. Seeking an expansion of his culinary knowledge, in 2006, Victor accepted Executive Chef and Culinary Partner positions for P.F. Chang’s China Bistro followed by BJ’s Restaurants.
Victor is a consummate creator and visionary of culinary concepts. His comprehensive expertise will allow the Village Inn to constantly modify and enhance our culinary offerings. Victor acknowledges that guest feedback and interaction is the priority in creating an establishment that is growing and achieving, so please do not hesitate to ask for Chef on your next visit!
Daniel & Jessica Miller
Daniel and Jessica come to the VI with a committed background in hospitality. After serving in the U.S. Army overseas for 4 years (2001-2005), Dan entered into restaurants as an Operations Manager for P.F. Chang’s China Bistro in Rancho Mirage, CA. After managing a number of P.F. Chang’s establishments, Dan became an Operating Partner for the company in 2007. In 2008, Dan joined the boutique, but highly energized La Casa del Camino Hotel in Laguna Beach and in 2009 took a position as Food and Beverage Manager at the Montage Resort and Spa in Laguna Beach. After general management of Montage’s Loft and Studio restaurants with a stint opening Scarpetta at Montage in Beverly Hills, Dan and his family agreed it was time to evaluate ownership opportunities.
Jessica’s background in hospitality focuses in on sales, catering and event planning. Jessica spent four years as Sales and Events Coordinator for La Casa del Camino Hotel in Laguna Beach, CA prior to moving to that same position at the 350-seat, Mozambique Restaurant in Laguna Beach, CA. Jessica’s passion and attention to detail in event planning provides a unique skill to the long-term development of the Village Inn. Dan and Jessica took over operations at the Village Inn on April 18th 2012 after opening the Black Diamond Tavern in Big Bear Lake, CA December 31st, 2011. Adding to an already healthy schedule, Jessica gave birth to their daughter, Lilah Jai Miller, on October 14, 2012.
